The United States’ largest pharmacy chain, Medco Healthcare, is stepping up its efforts to sell generic Viagra on the US market.

The company has been fighting a legal battle over the patent on Viagra, which is now set to expire in the United States. Medco Healthcare’s Viagra sales alone reached $2.2 billion in the US in 2018.

“It’s clear we’re going to continue to be fighting this litigation,” said Medco Healthcare president and CEO Hank McKinnell.

“If you look at the patents that have been litigated, it’s clear we’ve won. But I want to emphasize we are going to continue to fight this litigation.”

The Viagra patent on which Medco Healthcare is fighting is now set to expire. In August, the U. S. Supreme Court ruling threw out the Viagra patent.

It has been several years since the Viagra patent had been litigated by the Supreme Court.

In 2012, the Court ruled that a manufacturer had to prove that the patent had “improper benefits” and that the patent was valid on its face.

That ruling prompted the Food and Drug Administration to issue a warning on Viagra’s effectiveness in treating erectile dysfunction.

On July 24, the FDA sent a letter to Medco Healthcare requesting that it be held accountable for failing to challenge the Viagra patent.

“We are disappointed that the FDA has decided not to grant an appropriate, preliminary injunction against Medco Healthcare to continue to market a generic version of Viagra,” the letter said.

In a statement, the company said: “We are committed to pursuing all available available options and are committed to protecting patients from the potentially harmful effects of the FDA’s current products.”

The company also said it was continuing to defend against the Viagra patent.

“We are committed to protecting our patients from potentially dangerous side effects of Viagra and to our partners in this important health care community,” it said.

The company’s move to market a generic version of Viagra is also in part because it was not able to make the drug available on its own.

“We are disappointed that the FDA has decided not to grant an appropriate, preliminary injunction against Medco Healthcare to continue to market a generic version of Viagra.”

Medco Healthcare said it will seek to launch the generic version of Viagra on June 15, but has yet to respond to the FDA.

In a statement, Medco Healthcare said it was “reviewing the case of a generic, Pfizer-sponsored generic version of Viagra,” but had not made a decision on the legal issue. “Patients are entitled to compensation for the pain and suffering that is caused by the use of generic Viagra,” it said.

“The FDA is currently reviewing Pfizer’s Viagra for possible over-the-counter (OTC) availability,” the company said.

In a statement, the company noted that the FDA has not yet issued a warning about the use of Viagra in the United States.

“The Food and Drug Administration’s approval of Viagra in 1998 was based on a safety analysis that did not include information regarding potential over-the-counter (OTC) availability,” the statement said.
